Delivering to an Island

Feb 2016

When a client lives on an island and there are no roads or ferry services available, how do you deliver a load of Western Red Cedar without damaging it? The answer, float it over.

Pearl Island, WA

Pearl Island, WAPearl Island is a small island just a short drive from Roche Harbor, WA. The drive however, is done by boat.

Barge services are not uncommon in this part of the world where it is necessary to move large or heavy items. In this case, we delivered a load of Western Red Cedar via truck and barge to do whatever was necessary for the customer.

The customer wrote us a word of thanks after it was over;

The delivery went great and Brandon was a rock star. Not only did he do a great job driving/maneuvering the Sound Cedar truck off the barge and up the steep hill, he lent a huge helping hand unloading the windows. Robert was equally impressive helping me with the siding and soffit order and timely communicating the status of the order and delivery schedule. Also, I greatly appreciated Mike’s willingness to remove the rear metal bar/bumper and am glad we could leave it intact. Thanks again."
